PRESS RELEASE: LOU REED WILL BE REMEMBERED IN HOLLYWOOD, CA ON OCTOBER 27TH IN THE SAME BUILDING THE VELVET UNDERGROUND RECORDED.

Photography Studio In The Same Building Where TTG Studios Once Was, Reaches Out To The Creative Community Asking Them To Join Them In Remembering Lou Reed.

October 16, 2014 (Los Angeles, CA) -- Many felt a deep loss when the death of Lou Reed was unexpectedly announced on October 27th, 2013. Studio 1444 in Hollywood, CA is holding a special night to remember him, giving opportunity to those who were influenced by, or appreciate his decades of musical and artistic contributions. This will be a simple night including open mic, for people to pay tribute to the man and the legacy he left behind.

Lou Reed was one of the original founding members of the groundbreaking, avante-garde group, The Velvet Underground, once known as Andy Warhol's house band; they, the group, recorded in this building when it was home to TTG Studios. Songs on their first album, The Velvet Underground & Nico (1966) recorded at TTG were: "I'm Waiting for the Man, "Venus in Furs" and "Heroin"; followed by the third album The Velvet Underground, which was recorded in 1968 in it's entirety at TTG Studios.

The creative community is encouraged to participate; artists, poets, writers, musicians, performance artists, and those with personal recollections, in addition to those who practice Tai Chi, or other martial arts. To be a part of this remembrance, please email GatherTheArtists@mail.com. We are dedicating 2 hours as an open mic/performance time. Acoustic only, 1-5 minutes for each person, or group, (due to limited space we require an rsvp). The studio will provide the stage, an amp, lighting, bar stool. Cameras and filming equipment will be allowed (please contact us first). Depending on the response, we can extend the time frame.

There will also be one wall dedicated to art (limited space and all works must be ready to hang with a wire backing only.) For more information, please email: GatherTheArtists@mail.com. Deadline to submit works is Thursday, October 23rd.

This is a limited space, family friendly event, and all are welcome with *RSVP. We have great respect for privacy, and names and list will not be shared. Special thanks to Amoeba Music in Hollywood, Deyo Glines, Graphic Design and Digital Art for Music Packaging, Print & Web and Digital Music Marketing.

More details will become available soon. We hope you will join us in remembering this remarkable, brutally honest man who changed music and so many lives throughout his. For more information please contact: Shawni Groves at: (213) 255-0059.
